Beside popular destinations like Trang An or Tam Coc - Bich Dong, Ninh Binh is really a province of picturesque lakes and rivers. Let’s contemplate some pristine water beauty in Ninh Binh!
Van Long Lagoon
Van Long is the largest wetland nature reserve in the Northern Delta. This nature reserve is located in the northeast of Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province. Van Long is known as "no wave bay" because when you go on a boat on the lagoon, visitors will see the water surface as a giant mirror with the very limpid water that you can see the bottom clearly. Floating on the small basket boat to explore the lagoon amidst the amazing rocky mountains, visitors can watch the abundance of aquatic species shivering under the clear water and storks flying over grass on the lake.
Especially, visitors will enjoy the feeling of discovering cool caves, and if you are lucky enough you may catch a Langur on branches.

Dong Chuong Lake
Now move to two communes Phu Loc and Phu Long located in Nho Quan district to get Dong Chuong lake. Here you will be surprised by the wild and peaceful scenery. Surrounding the lake are the pine forests reflecting the shadow on the lake, creates a very cool and romantic atmosphere, as well as a Heaven pond (Ao Troi) on the high hill with blue water but never dry . Near Dong Chuong Lake, there is Ba Tua waterfall and Chin streams which are amazing too. Guests can take a boat ride around the lake, relax in nature or take part in exciting games, camping or have a picnic at the edge of the forests.

Kenh Ga Floating Village
Located on the banks of the Hoang Long River (Gia Thinh Commune, Gia Vien District), it is quite a popular place, not only because of the enormous mountains but also of the surrounded local people living on the water surface. Moreover, this is well known for the Kenh Ga Hot Spring, the top five hot spring tourist attractions in Vietnam.

An Tiem Cave
Am Tien Cave is located in the ancient relic of Hoa Lu, in Truong Yen commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province, about 10 km from the center of the city. There is a legend that King Dinh Tien Hoang used to raise tigers and built the execution grounds there, and at the same time it has the temple that the Mother of King Duong Van Nga went to the monastery at the end of her life.
