Go camping - an interesting experience in Ninh Binh

Camping in Ninh Binh will best known in Cuc Phuong National Park. It is Vietnam’s first National Park and one of the country’s largest nature reserve. This forest spans parts of Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa province. The diversity of its fauna and flora, the beauty of its nature and its many cultural and historical features make the area an attractive destination for tourists. Though wildlife has suffered a precipitous decline in VietNam in recent decades, the park`s 222 square Km of primary tropical forest remains home to a amazing variety of animal and plant life: 307 species of birds, 133 species mammal, 122 species of reptile, 2000 plant species and counting. Below is detail of 2 days 1 night camping tour in Cuc Phuong:

Day one:

At about 8h30, leaving Ninh Binh on the forest-pineapple-way to Cuc Phuong at around 10h00 and then visiting Endangered Primate Rescue Center (EPRC). from headquarters and hike to the starting point. In the primary forest, you will trek for four to five hours, passing limestone caves and trees over a millennia old. The destination is langur valley in the hope of seeing Cuc Phuong`s mascot and one of the rarest primates on the planet.

Lunch, dinner and stay overnight by tent will be provided by the local guide of E.S. In the evening you, local guide of E.S and a local person will re-enter the now pitch black forest and, using a spotting lamp, go in search of the forest`s numerous nocturnal creatures, which include civets, owls, flying squirrels, lories, bats and cats.




Day two:

After the sounds of the jungle have lulled you to sleep in the safety of your mosquito net, you will awake refreshed and ready for another day of adventure. Hike to reach the Muong village and finally return to the main road for collection by a private car.

a 8-km/ 3hrs jungle trek for day two

From July to September, the climate is usually humid and hot. From

October to June brings cooler and more pleasant weather.
